Mountstewart House and Gardens is approx three miles outside Newtownards on the beautiful shores of Strangford lough which in itself is a world famous wildlife and nature reserve , Mount Stewart is a must for any visitor to Northern Ireland, the new car park is now in operation and the gardens in this National Trust owned property are a delight to see, plants and trees from all corners of the world adorn these gardens and tours around the house are on throughout the year. A walk up to the Temple of the Winds through the garden walkway is more than worth the effort for the beautiful views over Strangford Lough !!
